CONTEXT
The Bruschettini Foundation for Islamic and Asian Art is one of the world’s most important private collections of Islamic art, with over 750 objects ranging from Spain to China and a library of 40,000 volumes. The Museum of Oriental Art (MAO) in Turin is a leading institution dedicated to Asian art, known for its innovative exhibitions and contemporary approach to historical collections.
This project presented a once-in-a-generation opportunity: to integrate the Bruschettini Foundation’s extraordinary collection and library into MAO’s permanent offering, transforming the museum into a globally significant hub for Eurasian art and dialogue.
COMMISSION
The Place Bureau was invited to help MAO and the Bruschettini Foundation craft a compelling vision to communicate the transformative potential of this partnership. Our role was to develop a narrative that could galvanize political support and secure funding — positioning the initiative as not merely a museum expansion, but a cultural movement.
